We are seeking a passionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team! If you have a love for animals, a strong work ethic, and experience working in a clinical veterinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians in routine procedures and surgical prep
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments
- Monitor anaesthesia and post-operative recovery
- Handle animal restraint with care and safety
- Conduct laboratory work (bloods, fecals, microscopy, etc.)
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient files
- Ensure cleanliness and sterility of the clinic and equipment
- Provide client education and assist with discharge instructions
- Emergency response support when required
- When required, travel with the vet to assist with clients
Requirements
- Diploma in Animal Health or Veterinary Technology
- SAVC registration (or in process)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience preferred
- Confidence in handling dogs, cats, and (if applicable) large animals
- Good communication and client interaction skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Availability for weekend and/or emergency shifts as needed
